Presentation: Managing Risk through Effective Enclosure Quality Assurance

$25.00 Member Ticket

$30.00 Guest Ticket

Intertek provides UL and other industry testing of many of the building products we use every day. John Runkle, P.E., an engaging speaker who is Vice President, Building Science Solutions with Intertek Building & Construction, will present on Managing Risk through Effective Enclosure Quality Assurance. The practice of building sciences has expanded way beyond water leakage and HVAC to include acoustics, fire, IAQ and many other practices that have not traditionally been at the core of building sciences.   As such, quality assurance (QA) related services specific to Building Sciences have also changed dramatically as Commissioning is taking a dominant position for the QA framework with an ever-expanding array of functional performance testing.   This presentation will focus on how these changes are impacting today’s building enclosures and give the audience the ability to understand these changes.   We will review the state of the art in QA and predict where the industry will be going forward that that attendees will be better equipped to keep pace with this ever-changing industry.

Lunch will be provided.

PPE:  If you have a hard hat and safety glasses, please bring them.  If not, Intertek will have a supply you can borrow.  Long pants and closed-toe shoes are also required in the lab and it is suggested to wear comfortable walking shoes as we will be standing on concrete during the tour.

Please park as shown on the downloadable map. Visitor parking is to the left of the visitor's entrance.
